About Vellum

The people who shape the built environment deserve tools worthy of the work.

Every road, building, site plan, utility layout, permit set, and field revision carries real weight. Behind every drawing are decisions that affect budgets, schedules, communities, safety, and trust.

Yet too often, the professionals doing this work rely on tools that feel slower than their thinking, heavier than their process, or disconnected from the way design actually happens.

Vellum was created to change that.

We are building a modern workspace where plans, drawings, annotations, measurements, and ideas come together with the speed of a sketch, the discipline of engineering, and the polish of a product people actually enjoy using.

Vellum is built for the moments when ideas need to move clearly: from markup to decision, from review comment to action, from early design thinking to finished documentation.

Mission

To equip people with tools to communicate design intent with precision, accuracy, and speed.

Vision

We see a world where design moves at the speed of thought, not the speed of the revision cycle, and nothing is lost between the idea and what's built.

Purpose

Because the decisions engineers make shape the communities we all live in, we're here to give them tools worthy of that responsibility.

Ross Tsantoulis, P.E., Founder

Vellum is founded by Ross Tsantoulis, P.E., an engineer with 19 years of experience across infrastructure design, drawing review, and construction.

After years of working inside the gap between drawings, decisions, and field outcomes, Ross started Vellum to build the review tool he always wanted: precise enough to trust, fast enough to think in, and designed for the way AEC professionals actually work.
